The second popular sea resort
of West Bengal is Bakkhali , situated only 132 km away from
Calcutta , It is quiet and charming. At Bakkhali, the beach is
long and sandy, the waves twinkling in the sunlight. Dense
casuarinas groves drape the beach. Red fiddler crabs march in
line on the beach.
How to get there
Road
A three hour bus journey from
calcutta to Namkhana, a ferry across the river Hatania Doania,
and another bus journey for one and half hour to Bakkhali

Train
Train service from Sealdah
station upto Diamond Harbeur Namkhana is 58 km from diamond
harbeur. Kumardhubi (10km.) and Barakar (12km.) are the
nearest railway stations. Asansol Junction is about 35 km.

Dhanbad (50 km) and Maithon
